The research is based around three general ideas:
Treatment works differently for different people in different settings
The researcher’s main job is to be a useful resource for communities
The main experts are South Asian people struggling with drugs or alcohol
Working alongside communities, we will:
Develop ideas of what approaches are working, for which groups of people, and why
Ask people what they think about these ideas, and about their experiences of support
Design – together – a way of improving engagement with support, which will be tested in two UK cities
